After careful consideration for the growing travel and health concerns surrounding the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), we have decided to transition the 2020 Coursera Conference from a two day, in-person event to a free, fully virtual experience on Tuesday, April 21, 2020, from 8:00am PDT to 12:00pm PDT.

No, the 2020 Coursera Conference is not canceled. We are moving to a free, fully online virtual experience on April 21, 2020, from 8:00am – 12:00pm PDT.

The virtual conference will take place on Tuesday, April 21, 2020, from 8:00am – 12:00pm PDT.

Yes. Anyone who registered for the 2020 Coursera Conference in Chicago received a full refund and was automatically registered for the virtual conference at no charge. Registrants received an automated email from Eventbrite with a refund confirmation. Refunds can take up to 5 business days (7 business days outside the U.S.) and will be posted to the credit card used at the time of registration. If you did not receive a refund by March 30th, please contact us at conference@coursera.org 

No, the virtual conference is a free event. If you previously registered for the in-person event in Chicago, you received a full refund and were automatically registered for the free virtual event. If you have not registered yet, you can register here.

Yes, and we encourage more participation and inclusivity. The benefit of a virtual event is that it opens opportunities for additional members of the Coursera community to attend. Please forward the registration link (https://courseravirtualcon2020.eventbrite.com) to your colleagues to ensure that they receive email notifications, conference details, login details, etc. If you or your colleagues are not registered for the event, you will not receive links to view the event.

Yes, we will share the recordings, post event, with everyone who is registered.

Yes, we are shifting from a two-day in-person event to a shorter virtual experience. We are working on those details, so please check the conference website often. We will continue to send updates to all registered attendees.

The live streaming broadcast begins at 8:00am PDT and concludes at 12:00pm PDT. If you’ve registered, you will receive a link to join the event.

Although we will no longer offer a tailored program for our Enterprise customers, we are currently organizing a series of webinars to bring our Enterprise learning community together to promote healthy dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and best practices. 

 

You are still encouraged to join the virtual conference to hear from Coursera co-founders Andrew Ng and Daphne Koller, as well as our CEO, Jeff Maggioncalda. A panel of experts will join them to discuss the short- and long-term implications of COVID-19 on higher education, and what it means for the future of online teaching and learning.

To experience the best broadcast results, we highly recommend that you take a browser test at least one day prior to the event. More details will be shared prior to the start of the conference.

If you booked your hotel reservation through the room block for Coursera Conference, you should contact the Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park hotel directly to cancel your reservation. Reservations will be fully refunded if canceled at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled arrival. To reach the Fairmont Hotel, please call +1 (312) 565-8000, or refer to your booking confirmation email to cancel your reservation online.

 

If hotel reservations were booked through another website, you will need to contact that vendor directly to cancel your reservation. We are unable to reimburse for any costs associated with pre-paid lodging (non-refundable hotel rooms, AirBnB, etc).

We are unable to reimburse for booked flights, flight changes, or cancellation fees.  If you have purchased airfare, be sure to check with your travel organization or selected carrier to determine their refund policy for extenuating circumstances.
